Coreless Induction Furnace

Coreless induction furnace is named relative to core induction furnace. The metal liquid is filled into a crucible, so it is also known as crucible furnace. The coreless induction melting furnace is one of the most important furnace types for cast iron foundries, for the whole non-ferreous industry and for special applications in steelworks. It is used either as a melting furnace, a holding furnace or as a casting furnace. Coreless induction furnace is characterised by melting temperature, less impurity pollution, uniform alloy components and good labor conditions. Compared to the core induction furnace, the coreless induction furnace changes metal species relatively easily. Besides, the coreless induction melting furnace is operated flexibly. However, its electricity and thermal efficiency is lower than core induction furnace. Because the surface temperature of coreless induction furnace is very low, it is not conducive to high-temperature slag melting. The coreless induction melting furnace is mainly composed of a ceramic crucible, which is surrounded by a cylindrical induction coil. This coil is operated either by mains or medium frequency electrical power which induces a strong current inside the metal. The coreless induction furnace has copper coils that are protected by a steel and magnetic shield. We adopt wooden boxes to avoid or reduce deformation during transportation.
